About Forest Flame Millinery and Mandy...........
Forest Flame's hair accessories, hats and fascinators are designed and handcrafted by
Mandy. By day, she teaches at a secondary school. Her day job keeps her very busy on
weekdays and so she spends every minutes of her free time (usually on Sunday and during
school holidays) designing and creating new designs.
Forest Flame designs are influenced by old Hollywood movies starlets -epitomes of glamour
and timeless elegance. Mandy uses a combination of modern and traditional techniques in
her hair accessories. Her skills is self-taught but fuelled by her passion in millinery, she set
off for London in 2010 to learn the traditional art of hat-making under Royal Milliner, Mrs
Rose Cory. Currently, she concentrates on creating beautiful, wearable and unique
hair-pieces and mini-hats for bridal and special events. She hopes to collect enough hat
blocks to start her collection of hats.
Artistic Credential:
- GCE 'A" Level Visual Art
- Jewelry Design and Fabrication from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore
- Learned millinery under Mrs Rose Cory in London. Mrs Cory is a respected and well-known
royal milliner who used to make hats for the late Queen Mother.
